Anara San notes that there is a common tendency for comedy websites to also have a surprising amount of naked lady content. She looked at three comedy websites — I Am Bored, College Humor, and Evil Milk — and found the following.
The home page at College Humor includes three categories under “Pictures”: All, Girls, and Categories. The “Girls” category simply features your typical modern men’s “lifestyle” magazine fodder; the “sexy” subcategory is the same.
Evil Milk is a site that claims to aggregate “the funniest pics on the internets.” It’s front page, however, features 7 sexy ladies (and a related pic in the bottom right corner):
Finally, I Am Bored has a wacky photos feature that just so happens to include (marginally wacky) sexy ladies:
San asks if comedy is only for dudes. Comedy sure seems like a hyper-masculinized space to me.
