A mistake? Riiiight.....I've seen that photo on the left float around on the interwebs for a long time, more as an "awkward family photo" rather than a "scary lesbians" photo. It's quite popular so I'm sure it was the first one that popped up on the google image search when the administrative assistant who was ordered to find a photo popped that into the search field. Sheesh.

Welcome to religious hatred, and how it works. thank you

See my comment further down about OCD and OCPD.

Now we understand why arguing with religious conservatives is a waste of time.

their leaders should be tossed in jail for creating mental illness,as both a fraud of medicine and practicing medicine without a license

"Phobia: an anxiety disorder characterized by extreme and irrational fear; an exaggerated, usually inexplicable and illogical fear." end quote

Thanks - I missed that one. But here is another..........

People who are absolutists, with no ability to see both sides of an argument and see the world in black and white (is that actually a racist comment btw - the black is bad and the white is good?) are actually victim of obsessive - compulsive personality disorder, a recognized mental illness.

I kind of was aware of this but thought it didn't fit, because OCD is usually related to ritual behavior eg washing the hands 20x per day, and not taking a bath but once a year. And extreme hoarding. I know some people like this btw.

the difference is between the previous paragraph - obsessive compulsive disorder, and obsessive compulsive personality disorder.

All of these diseases are basically anxiety related, where anxieties eg in conventional OCD spill over in the mind into unrelated fear driven behaviors.

OCPD is what the mad churches drive into people They create terrible fear that the person will go to hell if they don't do what they are told - eg hate someone (though the hate is disguised in many ways), and the other side of the pincer is the promise that death is not death if they do as they are told. Mix in some glory, ego, pride etc and that's how you can poisons societies with hate filled religions. Which is what the FFPC and all the other hate groups and hate churches do to brainwash minds.

I gotta say, left one looks 'shopped. All accusations and speculation aside, I just can't take it seriously. The upper one's is so bizarrely skewed and out of proportion with the lower.

"Sure. And all the cases, testimonies, studies and stats concerning sexual abuse, rape, sexual exploitation, and sexual harassment are delusional."
You mean occurring to a minority of people by an even smaller minority of people? You mean the ones mostly committed by heterosexuals? I know many, many who have been raped by straight men.

"You are propagating a seriously dangerous and harmful stereotype about an absence of sexual violence in society."
She said most people are not sexually violent, regardless of orientation. Are you arguing that most people are sexually violent?

Yeah, I have a list. I think fighting to keep kids from learning things is wrong. I think making divorce more difficult doesn't make strong families but makes it harder for people to get out of damaging or abusive relationships. Abstinence eduaction doesn't work and is lying by omission. Evolution is based on so much evidence that denying it and keeping your kids from it just keeps them out of science and from understand how science works. Pushing for other people to not be allowed what you are is wrong. Being against hate crime legislation because it curtails free speech is non-sense. Unless you preach hate and then go assault a minority that you hate, it doesn't affect you. Calling judges "activists" because they're liberal when you want them to do what you want instead is hypocritical. There are tons of issues with their beliefs and the fact that their list of core beliefs includes "the Judeo-Christian worldview as the basis for a just, free and stable society" while complaining that they don't get enough religious freedom is also hypocritical and prejudiced. Plus, there are the flat-out lies: "In recent years, a number of studies have shown the benefit of abstinence-based sex education in decreasing the early involvement of children and teens in sexual activity."

Phobia: an anxiety disorder characterized by extreme and irrational fear; an exaggerated, usually inexplicable and illogical fear.

People get mental health treatment for some phobias because those phobias interfere with having healthy relationships with other people and with being able to cope with reality.

The lack of being in touch with reality makes it impossible for the phobic person to have perspective about scale, so they incorrectly weight evidence that supports their fears and ignore evidence that doesn't.

One would think that someone who was afraid to fly would be only too happy to learn that flying is the safest form of transportation. But true phobia doesn't work that way. The flying-phobic points to the one horrific jet crash they saw on TV as incontrovertible evidence of why they are afraid to fly. That's because the phobia is not really evidence-based, the example is given to make the phobic feel better about something they can't control.

The only answer is that the phobic get professional help with examining and addressing their fear. Otherwise, they are forever at risk of removing themselves from the larger human community and limiting what is possible for their experience of life.

Naturally, you usually can't reason with someone with a true phobia. I just seem to have a lot of time on my hands today.

If you published one of your particularly vicious screed about how all homosexuals are rapists/pedophiles/child molesters, then if there were any justice in the world, someone could sue you for defamation of character.

Whether this would actually be possible would depend, unfortunately, on how you framed your argument.
