And yeah, there are too many women who will just shrug it off – the same women who explain how they aren’t feminists because they don’t “hate men” and so on.

Of course, those children are misbehaving because they don’t have a strong father figure to whip them with a belt every evening, whether they did something wrong or not.
And the cities are metaphorically crumbling because of poverty brought on by an epidemic of welfare queens lounging on couches eating bonbons while their children roll in the dirt (and misbehave).

Pretty sure that’s what they were going for.

First they use sexism and now they use racism. I guess we’ll be seeing a homophobic version too.

Ha, I thought you were going to go in a different direction with that— when I think of “historical khaki” I unquestionably think of the British after World War One, and the whole great-white-hunter-in-a-pith-helmet image. You know, safari in Rhodesia and whatnot. A very manly-man image.

You’re quite right about the thrill-seeker flyboy image post WWII, though. And in between there was Hemingway! Khakis (like those other “real men doin’ hard work” pants, jeans) have fallen pretty far on the manly scale over the years.
