The first guy who talks about taking care of himself at home and not wanting help is blind, by the way. You can tell in the larger version of the image on the host site.

LOL Reanimated Horse.

George - I think there's a disconnect between libertarian ideology in this country and the perceptions of who libertarians are. As a young person (throughout high school and now in college), my understanding was that libertarians were basically just Republicans that liked South Park and heavy metal - i.e., mean, sullen, selfish nerds. It didn't help that most people in this stereotype did, in fact, self-identify as libertarian.

Obviously once I actually read up on the political system, it became clear that it's a perfectly valid ideology with its own strengths and weaknesses, like any other. And I've met a couple of great libertarians as well, who engaged me in lively, respectful debates.

I think it's just a matter of clearing up the stereotypes - and I think that will come as libertarian ideology becomes more and more mainstream.

I commend you on being respectful and representing your beliefs well btw. :)

Some of the men in the series had difficulty defining their masculinity: it was just something that WAS. I think this makes a good point about the social construction of gender roles and how they really don't mean anything.

One of the men defined himself as masculine based on not feeling like a woman, again showing that masculinity is more something that gains its substance from being unfeminine. Not that he was thinking in that way.

It was certainly an interesting series.

never mind, didn't realize you were referring to the link, where the models state that they're trans.
same comment still applies to trans folk who want/need to pass.

plenty of trans folk don't appreciate being outed. and outing somebody as trans is not the same as outing somebody as gay. our lives are more important to us than how cis men and women "redefine" masculinity.

Not to mention: it's so painfully obvious that his opinion of himself is based on other people. You have to wonder if this guy would feel masculine at all if he were alone on a desert island. He wouldn't exist.

Indeed, all of the men after the jump are showing a lot of skin, ranging from shirtlessness to partial posterior nudity to full frontal nudity. And that's all it takes— many web filters filter for photos with large areas of flesh tones.

I'm 100% confident that sexual orientation had nothing to do with the photo placement. Not on this blog!

"I am masculine because I abandon women after taking their love."

Abandoning women after taking their love doesn't make someone masculine, it makes them an ass.

The most appealing to me of the whole series was the guy on the steps renovating his house. Probably because he reminds me of my husband. : ) The least appealing by far was Luke -- I find it funny that the photo makes him look so very unappealing -- at least to me -- even before I read the quote that seals the deal.
