I think the adds are kinda creative, but they do give these kinda women a bad view of themselves. Hey if you advertising to men only then it is hilarious as hell. I would definitely try this beer out. Not because it would prevent beer goggles, but because I could drink more and not be worried about getting a hangover just kidding.

These quite neatly describe the very, very small spectrum of acceptable female body image by showing me a whole gamut of things I, as a human being with boobs, am not allowed to be. Fat, old, freckly, married, etc etc. Women must always be young (but not too young), fit, glisteningly hot and sexually available. If we’re anything else, we’re deviously trying to lure unsuspecting men to their doom, whereupon we’ll cackle and rub our hands together and high-five the rest of our hideous haggy sisters for snagging another defenseless drunkard.

I’ll have to slightly disagree here. While I think spots featuring men and women would mitigate, I don’t think throwing a few dudes in would change how the existing ads we have here are interpreted. It’s not enough to also target “unattractive” men, since men aren’t judged on their physical appearance as much as women.

I guess I’m considered ugly, because I look a lot like that girl in the second picture, except I wear my hair differently, my teeth have been fixed, and I don’t wear glasses. Everything else fits, though, even my boobs. :P So obviously, although I consider all of them offensive, the second picture in particular hit me the hardest.

Agree with DIMA. If they interspersed this campaign with adds directed at women as well as men it would be much less offensive. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a diss on those that are less conventionally attractive (i.e. obese women AND men etc.) but it would just be run of the mill obnoxious advertising. As is, it slams the ladies and privileges men.

I could swear I’ve seen the 2nd two images before, using the same ‘beer goggles’ tack, but showing conventionally ‘attractive’ women, then the women in the above photos. A sort of compare and contrast of this is what you see and this is what’s real, or something.

I followed a link here, from a site that showed only the third one. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her other than one arm looks much larger than the other. I had to read the comments and look at the ads a second time to get it (attractive legs/breasts/face on otherwise “unattractive” body). I think that the “ugly” parts may also have been photoshopped to make them larger, since as I said before, one of #3′s arms looks a good deal larger than the other.
