How about Ken, is anybody complaining about the White guy that gets no buyers? I have 3 girls… they love Barbie, they own no Ken dolls… nobody likes to play with Ken…. Maybe they should come out with a K-G doll… with big parts and he will popular with Barbie and her friends… unfortunatly Barbies parents who we have never met will disown her… wait a minute, why does Barbie have custody of her sisters? In fact, why do we promote Barbie at all.. Ken is clearly gay, the only one he ever gets play with is GI Joe and he always gets his ass kicked, and Barbie is never supervised, has two sisters, no parents and a dream house with Ken… really? And we care that one is priced less then the other… we have bigger concerns.

Seriously? At least they aren’t being offered at 3/5th of the price at a public auction… It is all about supply and demand. Maybe the CHILDREN like the BARBIE doll better… do some research.. Skipper and Kelly probably sell worse then Barbie too. To tell you the truth, I have never been played, with still in the box, anniversary edditions of Theresa, in gorgeous gowns that I will trade you for 40 acres and a mule.

in most cases, white dolls sell for less than black dolls as they are more widely available.
i am currently looking for black dolls and they are all over $20 more expensive than white dolls of the exact same make.

I pissed off because I, as a white person, I’m being asked to pay more for the same product. You’d really flip out if the black dolls were priced more than the white ones.
Get some real jobs people. These products are priced by computers who only look at the code number, and adjust the price based upon shelf life.

I bought my son a black cabbage patch doll in 1986. He’s half Asian, I’m white. So there. And I wouldn’t read to much into this. It’s just supply and demand. So don’t blame the retailer. Blame the consumers.

The black dolls are cheaper because they don’t sell as well. The only result of keeping the prices the same will be that the product will eventually be discontinued (Walmart will take the loss, will not re-order from distributor, distributor will stop making product). And then we’ll be reading about how evil Walmart doesn’t even sell black dolls to begin with.

In many ways supply and demand is democracy in the market place. As it is, the majority of consumers vote ‘No’ on “Are you willing to pay as much for a black doll as a white doll?”
