Rudy (the Sean Astin film about a plucky poor kid who manages to get onto the Notre Dame football team) had a magical black man, parodied in the film “Not Another Team Movie” as “the wise janitor.” There’s also Legend of Bagger Vance and a host of others. It also kind of disturbs me that the mother is apparently experiencing extreme anxiety over eating the chocolate. I could never enjoy a treat if I had to eat it before my family discovered me.

I used to watch Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She had magic negro characters like The Quizmaster assisting her all the time. Literally magical black men whose purpose on the show was to help her on her journey. And Quizmaster wore funny hats sometimes.
