This book preeches truth. Society has really lost the plot. It is a proven fact that women have smaller brains than men. so how are women mean’t to take on the advanced tasks that we do? Sure there are exceptions but they are far and few in between and for a reason. Because god made us this way, and isn’t it great!

Different does not imply symbiotic. A couple must be able to give and take in a relationship. You can reverse the roles all you want, but you can’t change the brains hard wiring. Women simply do not think like men and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Women can quite competently have a high paying career while their husbands take care of the children, but in even the freest of societies you will never see it the norm. Men have a drive for power and a single minded hardness that women generally do not, which makes them better in business and survival. Women have vastly more complex interpersonal relationships, which makes them better at forming society, managing people, and raising children. It’s one thing to create a society in which people may live as equals, but quite another to expect them to exercise it.

I’m quite sure this was meant quite seriously, and I’m sure most of it’s readers (albeit barely grade school) would have already known and understood the concepts. There were neither Female pilots nor Male stewards. Girls didn’t fix things, boys didn’t cook. If you look at any primitive society, you will see invariably that man and women always have different roles. In many cases they are true equals in society, but they have different roles, interests, obligations and in particular, rights. America in the 70’s, much like most of the world saw the differences of men and women innately and did not question it. Outside of the woman’s rights groups of the 60’s, this was perfectly normal and honestly, functioned well.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Winnie-the-pooh written a very long time ago. A time before the pill liberated women and gave them choices. Surely anything that was written prior to that merely reflected the “norms” of society at the time and as such had no malice intention. Naturally anything written today should reflect our social “norms” and therefore should reflect the fact that gender does not have the same restrictions on what women do.

have it all…just like in marriage you choose your battles, and
yes we do complement each other and no men can’t do anything a
woman can do…for example have a baby…more importantly

I was born in the 60’s and was in my formative years in the 70’s. I’m not sure about whether this book is satire or serious about gender roles, but I can tell you this: My favorite book at the time was about the variety of careers women could aspire to. There were stories about vets, photographers, architects, doctors, teachers and everything in between. Women were on the war path to declare independence from men. What is true about this “comic” book is that women and men do need eachother and do compliment eachother no matter what profession they choose. That is the way we are designed. Creation just doesn’t work as well when we fight our roles. That doesn’t mean a woman is not capable of any job a man is capable of. Interestingly enough, as independent as I was as a young woman, I grew up to marry a doctor and stay home with my four children. I wouldn’t trade that for any profession in the world. I still have 1/2 my life left to do whatever I choose.
