SJ, I am confused.
Could you please show me a place where I “assume [that I am] addressing mostly men?” I began with a question and ended with an “if so, then why,” suggesting that the only thing I assumed was my uncertainty of whether or not there were more men posting than women.

Also, where do I “make sweeping generalizations about women”? Is the premise that *”often”* “half or more of commenters are women” a generalization. And how is such an observation/belief “based on one post’s comments”?

You can decide whether the names are gender-neutral or not, but the gendered style/attitude of certain people’s comments (i.e Village Idiot, TM, lego-beast) aren’t so ambiguous to me.
