73man calls WKD “a putrid post-imperial UK man drink.” I can’t attest to that one way or the other, but the ad is a good example of a depiction of men as lazy, thoughtless oafs who leave women to do all the housework while they watch TV. It’s a negative portrayal of men, but it also reinforces the idea that women can’t expect much from them when it comes to cleaning.
