Juliet T. sent us a link to a fashion shoot for Elle Magazine (July 2008) in which clothed models are posed with naked men. The objectification of men in this way is unusual and, if you’re like me, seeing it will remind you of how we take-for-granted a world that routinely objectifies women but rarely objectifies men in the same way.  Juliet noted how odd it was that the men are shaved from the waist up, but hairy from the waist down.  That she noticed anything at all, I think, points to how unusual it is to see men portrayed this way.

The fashions, by the way, look straight out of the 1980s.
