Is this IKEA ad, in which a trans woman beautifies herself, then walks into the corner of a table, squinching her balls, making fun of the protagonist? Sometimes I think it might be, since it’s undercutting her happy, satisfied preparations with the Ambush of Pain from the Attack Table, but then sometimes I think it’s just a playful example of inclusivity. Then sometimes I wonder about the ad’s needless obsession with genitalia. Could she have just tripped in her high heels instead? Is this transgender as butt of a joke [drag has a long history of being employed by men for comedic purposes], or is this a transgendered character designed to compel the universal sighs and sympathy about the frustrations of messy rooms?
