Monty Python sang, "Every Sperm Is Sacred," when poking fun of Catholicism's ban on contraception, but how many songs about eggs do you know? :) Seriously though, the cultural emphasis is on sperm. I remember reading a novel (in an anthropology course back in college) called "Egalia's Daughters," where the story took place in a world where the gender hierarchy was reversed. I remember a section where a teacher teaches sex-ed to his students and through it "proves" that males are inferior. It was a fun and thought-provoking read.
