This 6-minute video accompanying a New York Times article documents a couple who shares parenting and housework equally. It’s an interesting illustration of what that might look like. It may also spark some interesting questions about which families have the privilege to perfectly share parenting. You will notice that they live in a lovely home and have jobs that work around their schedules. They each work 30 hours a week. At one point, Marc says: “We’re not trying to maximize our incomes, we’re trying to optimize our lives.” What might this video have looked like if the family had been working class?
