About Tonni Ann Brodber
Author with Gwendolyn Beetham of the column, Global Exchange, appearing the last Wednesday of every month.
Tonni Ann Brodber is a second year MBA candidate at ESADE Business School in Barcelona Spain. Tonni’s journey to Spain began in Kingston, Jamaica where she received her BSc in International Relations and Political Science (Hons) at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus. Tonni then completed a Masters degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and left London just as Gwendolyn began her studies at the LSE. Globally bent from birth Tonni then spent a year in China lecturing in International Relations and Development Studies at Yanshan University in China. In 2004 Tonni co-produced and co-directed a short film on the Haitian Bicentennial called ‘Seeking the Soul of Freedom’ which premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The film was the first initiative of 2Tonez Productions, the production/consultancy company that she co-founded. In late 2004 Tonni moved to Toronto where she worked as a counselor for an arts camp for disadvantaged teenaged girls called ‘Outside the Lines’ and worked as a writer/researcher on a documentary series on Caribbean Canadian authors at Leda Serene Films/Caribbean Tales. Tonni had the honor of working with the United Nations Development Fund for Women in Haiti on a consultancy and then joined the National Council for Research on Women as a Research Fellow, just as Gwendolyn was leaving the Council for the Dominican Republic. In spite of the many crossed paths, Gwendolyn and Tonni managed to be in the same place, and thus began a great friendship and this Global Exchange.
